VAT settings
Set your store's VAT rate, choose whether prices include VAT, and set a VAT class on each product.
In the consoleAccount → Settings
Comrc works out VAT on each order from your store's VAT settings and the VAT class of each item.
Store VAT settings
- VAT rate — your store's standard rate.
- Prices include VAT — turn this on if the prices you enter already include VAT (usual for selling to the public in the UK). Turn it off if your prices exclude VAT and it should be added at checkout.
VAT class per product
Each product has a VAT class that decides which rate applies to it:
- Standard — your store's VAT rate.
- Reduced — 5%.
- Zero — 0%.
For food businesses, VAT classes are set per menu item, because the same order can mix items at different rates.
